The Metropolitan Cathedral (Cathedral Metropolitan) is the oldest and largest cathedral in all Latin America. When Spanish missionaries converted the Aztec in the 16th century, they tore down all the temples and used the stones to construct churches on the site. This Cathedral was built in 1567 and finished in 1788.The credit of preserving these goes to Mexico.
